One of our favorite at-home activities is pet grooming! Not only do you save money on costly groomers, but you get to take care of your beloved furry friend first-hand – which, most of us, enjoy.
If there’s anything we’ve learned over the past couple of years, it’s the value of doing stuff at home! Not only was it a necessity in 2020, but many of us have come to love and appreciate the simplicity of doing things on our own.
There are several tips that we are excited to share with you that we’ve learned over the past couple of years from grooming at home! If you are a newbie or someone who’s avid about it as well, be sure to take note of some of the best hacks out there –
- Getting a good Pet Hair Brush
Finding a good pet hair brush is absolutely essential when grooming at home. Some brushes are messy, some are not efficient, and worst of all, some brushes actually hurt your pet! A brush that we have come to know and love is the Stainless Double-Sided Brush – which has a removal comb and is great for dematting. This product saves you time and leaves your pet’s fur looking better than ever!
- Change things up a bit with grooming globes!
We’ve come to love grooming gloves – and your pet will too! They are a fun and easy way to groom your pet while playing with them too. Also, if your pet is more sensitive to the brush, or even scared of it, then the grooming gloves are a great option as they take a lot of the fear out of the process in the pet’s mind. Try some out today!
- Don’t forget about the paws
The paws are one of the most important areas, and need to not be forgotten about! Maintaining your pet’s paws is critical as your pet has a lot of nerves there, so they should always be as clean as possible.
We recommend using a paw cleaner. It’s a great way to keep your furry friend’s paws clean, without having to go to the trouble of a bath. Just coming back from a long walk? Be sure to have the paw cleaner waiting! This also helps with minimizing waste that is tracked into your home from the outdoors, so it’s imperative that you have one.
We also recommend filing their nails. As the art of nail filing for pets is precise, you need to make sure you have a tool that is efficient and doesn’t take off too much. That’s why we love our rechargeable dog nail file – it gets the job done and is never too invasive!
- Make sure you have a good lint roller
Lastly, make sure you have a good lint roller. This product is great for pets of all hair sizes as it has a variety of different uses. For shorter hair pets, you can use it as a comb to quickly remove loose hair and adhesive fibers, while also making the fur smoother and silkier. For longer-hair pets, you can use this for excess hair that gets onto clothes, seats, sofas, and so on. It’s easy to carry and makes the perfect addition to any pet grooming routine!
Grooming your pet is an art and a science. Having the right products is imperative to making sure the job is done right. While it’s not hard to get started, your furry friends will certainly thank you once the job is done!
